Ingredients

  • 3 red apples (I used Fuji apples)
  • 1 box Pepperidge Farms puff pastry sheets (2 sheets)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/2 lemon, juice
  • powdered sugar (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a muffin tray with nonstick spray.
  • Rinse the apples, slice them in half lengthwise, and remove the core.
  • Cut the apples into thin slices widthwise, making sure the cut side faces down.
  • Place the thinly sliced apples in a bowl and squeeze the juice of half a lemon over them.
  • Sprinkle 1-2 teaspoons of sugar and a small pinch of cinnamon over the apples, then stir until evenly mixed. Set the leftover sugar and cinnamon aside.
  • Melt the butter and use a brush to apply it to one side of each puff pastry sheet.
  • Combine the remaining sugar and cinnamon, then evenly sprinkle it over the buttered side of the puff pastry.
  • Slice each puff pastry sheet into six equal strips.
  • Arrange a few apple slices along the puff pastry strip, then fold the pastry over to encase the apples inside.
  • Carefully roll the apple and pastry into a rose shape and place it in the prepared muffin tray. Continue this process until all 12 roses are formed.
  • Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
  • Let the pastries cool for 10 minutes before serving.
