Strawberry Tangulu

This candied strawberry treat is a sweet and satisfying delight you'll want to make again and again.

  • 1 Candy thermometer

Ingredients
  

  • 10-12 large fresh strawberries
  • wooden skewers
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions
 

  • Rinse and pat the strawberries dry, keeping the stems on. Thread 2-3 strawberries onto each wooden skewer.
  • In a small saucepan, mix the sugar and water. Heat over medium, stirring occasionally, until the mixture reaches 300°F on a candy thermometer; the hard crack stage.
  • Take the mixture off the heat and let it cool down a bit.
  • Fill a bowl with cold water and ice.
  • Dip each skewered strawberry into the hot sugar mixture, ensuring it is fully coated. Let the excess sugar drip off.
  • Quickly dip the sugar-coated strawberries into the ice water bath to set the coating. Take them out and gently pat them dry.
  • Serve the strawberry tanghulu skewers cold and crunchy for a delicious and special treat. Enjoy every bite!
